What are Artist Trading Card (ATC)? Artist Trading cards and Artist Cards Edition Originals are both (ACEO) miniature, handmade work of art, created to the standard size of a sports trading card (2.5″ x 3.5”).
M. Vance Stirnemann is the Swiss artist who stated the ATC movement in 1997. He encourages artists to exchange unique pieces of art in any medium, fostering a global community and shared creative experience.
Key Characteristics of ATCs and ACEO’s
- Size: 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (6.4 x 8.9 cm).
- Handmade Originals: self-produced piece of art created by the artist.
- Variety of Media: Wide range of techniques and materials are used, including paint (acrylics, oils, watercolors, graphite, pen and ink), dry or oil pastels, drawing, collage, fabric, stamping, and digital art, mixed media Art, polymer clay, and more.
- Information on the Back: The back of an ATC usually includes the artist’s name, the title of the work, date created, potentially contact information, signed and series details.

- ATC are not sold they are intended for free exchange or trade, no monetary profit.
