I chose this title because: Black is a color that I avoid to use as much as possible when I paint in watercolors. …so, this black door is my interpretation of a black door.

This painting was done while visiting my daughter Sussan in Leesburg Virginia. I painted the doors of some of the houses in her neighborhood because it is my way of saving the place, moment and memories. …it was more than a journal for me.

Bio Yolanda Barreto, is a self-taught visual artist who loves creating in her studio and outdoors. She exposes herself via different forms of art on a daily bases. Art is a way of interpreting her environment. She creates series and works with the following medias: acrylic, charcoal, mixed media, oil, pencil and watercolor. She also does sculptures and carves.
