I chose this title because: when I took the picture of the door from a window in Sussan’s house. The door that I saw looked like this painting but when I stood in front of the house it looked different. All the vegetation was gone. The plants next to the house that seemed to cover the entrance were not there. Only the birds were at the door.

This painting was done while visiting my daughter Sussan in Leesburg Virginia. I painted the doors of some of the houses in her neighborhood because it is my way of saving the place, moment and memories. …it was more than a journal for me.

Bio Yolanda Barreto, is a self-taught visual artist who loves creating in her studio and outdoors. She exposes herself via different forms of art on a daily bases. Art is a way of interpreting her environment. She creates series and works with the following medias: acrylic, charcoal, mixed media, oil, pencil and watercolor. She also does sculptures and carves. She belongs to several art organizations and has won best of show, artist of the month among other awards.
